Chamber Music Assignments

Participants are expected to thoroughly know their part and the score as a whole prior to their arrival to IIMIF on June 16. Your ensemble will have up to 8 days to bring at least one of your assignments to performance level for the chamber music concert on Friday, June 24 (even less time if you play in a masterclass!). Listen to and play along with any available recordings, ask your teachers for help, and read up on the composer and particular work. Make sure that the measures are numbered before your first rehearsal. Copied/printed music should be spiral-bound or placed in a binder for easy page turns.

What is your policy on family/friend visits?
Currently, MSMU (our host campus) is not allowing campus visits from unregistered guests during summer programs. If this policy changes, it will be posted here! We are planning to live-stream all public events and performances, and will post the links on the Events page.

Suggestion for parents of participants:
Please be aware that students are kept very busy during IIMIF. If you must contact your son or daughter, the best time will probably be during meal times as those are about the only times students are consistently free (breakfast at 8:00, lunch at 12:30, dinner at 5:30). Rest assured that if there is any problem, we absolutely will contact you. We suggest that you agree on a method and frequency of communication prior to IIMIF.

  • Upon acceptance, you will be given a specific date by which enrollment and tuition payment shall be submitted.
  • Student withdrawal over 45 days prior to start of program: refund of 80% of total paid, if the vacated enrollment is filled (we will contact applicants on the waitlist). If vacated enrollment cannot be filled, refund of 50% of total paid.
