JESSICA DESKIN is an American vocalist, pianist, and songwriter, with an eclectic background in music, as well as a voice technician, music director and coach, with classical, jazz, commercial and Estill voice training. After a two-year hiatus from performing, Jessica recently returned to First Congregational Church in Camden, Maine for a solo concert, premiering several new compositions. She earned her Bachelor of Music degree from Towson University in 2006, ultimately performing an entire Senior Recital without words, showcasing the voice as an instrument. She released her solo EP in 2015, and after living in Nashville and studying with songwriting legend Ralph Murphy, she returned home to Maryland, established what became a premiere music school in Bel Air, encouraging her students to become independent learners, leaders, and creators. Jessica’s students have won countless lead roles and awards in the DC/MD/VA area, with many pursuing degrees and careers in music, including performing on the National Broadway Stage and touring as national artists. Jessica has been performing in the MD/DC area for 20+ years and was lead vocalist/instrumentalist in the entertainment band, The New Monopoly, for over 15 years. She is a WPOC National Anthem Contest Winner, popular Ripken Stadium Anthem performer, and commissioned songwriter for non-profit organizations. In 2019-early 2020, Jessica performed at local venues such as 49 West in Annapolis, Mr. Henry’s and Twins Jazz Club in DC. In 2021, she proudly premiered a work by composer Elizabeth Borowsky, The Nature of Life, a song cycle for piano and voice. Over the past 2 years, she’s learned to record professionally from her home studio, launching her career as a session singer, custom songwriter, and budding producer. Jessica is also known for her business operations, communication and event management skills, and continues to explore new adventures in business and music.
