You are invited to celebrate
|
We are happy to share with you that Dr. Charles Borowsky (aka Karol and Karlheinz) will be celebrating a milestone birthday this year: on June 20 he will turn 80! Our family (together with friends, colleagues, and former students) is preparing a celebration. We need YOUR involvement to make it special: honoring Charles’ outstanding contributions to academia, culture, and society worldwide. There are many ways you can participate, be it attending in person, sharing your favorite memories, and/or sending greetings from afar.
We truly hope that you will take some time to reflect on the times you spent together with Charles and be kind enough to share them with us. Please feel free to contact us for further information.
Yours truly,
Cecylia Barczyk, Elizabeth Borowsky, Emmanuel Borowsky, and Frances Borowsky
and the CHB Celebration Consortium

CONVERSATORIUM/DISCUSSION: Another of Charles’ lifelong passions has been serving as a catalyst for discussions. On Monday, July 8 (9am-12pm) IIMIF will host a conversatorium on “The Meaning of Life” at Mount Saint Mary’s University (Emmitsburg, Maryland). We invite you to join the discussion. Please be sure to RSVP. Lunch will be available for purchase at the Mount Saint Mary's University cafeteria ($12-15).

COMMEMORATIVE BOOK: We know that your and Charles’ paths have crossed many times. It would be a great honor and joy for him if you could write a congratulatory note which would refer to your friendship, professional partnership, joint projects, actions, activities or even visits, fun times, and discussions. Your letter will be included in a special commemorative book which we will print for his birthday. It will be the most beautiful gift for him. Photos are also welcome!
