Chamber Music Assignments

Note: Each participant has been placed in two ensembles.

Participants are expected to thoroughly know their part and the score as a whole
prior to their arrival to IIMIF on June 20. Your ensemble will have up to 8 days to bring (at least one of) your assignment(s) to performance level for the chamber music concert on Saturday, June 28 (even less time if you play in a masterclass!). Listen to and play along with any available recordings, ask your teachers for help, and read up on the composer and particular work. Make sure that the measures are numbered before your first rehearsal. Copied/printed music should be spiral-bound or placed in a binder for easy page turns.

We suggest that you agree on a method and frequency of communication prior to IIMIF.

"IIMIF is an amazing place where you learn to master what you love with some of the greatest teachers in the world."

"I loved that IIMIF focuses on the emotional and spiritual side of the musician just as much as the technical side. I've been to several summer programs, and this sets your program apart."

"The focus on a holistic approach and comprehensive musicianship made for an incredible experience. There are not enough words to capture how grateful I am for what I learned."

"I especially loved that this festival is so intimate. Great things come in small packages!"
