“IMIF Prep” is a new, 3-day immersion program for children ages 5-13. The program is geared for the beginner through early-intermediate skill level.
It is our goal to share and pass on the energy, enthusiasm, and intensity that our students and faculty bring to IMIF and give you a taste of what participation in IMIF is like.
IMIF Prep includes:
Performance in masterclass (public lesson) for renowned IMIF faculty
Participation (optional) or observation of a chamber music rehearsal
Gentle morning group exercises (tailored to musicians)
Evening attendance of two IMIF student solo and ensemble concerts
Observation of IMIF student lessons
“Introduction to Improvisation” workshop
Ice Cream Social
Certificate of Participation
Commemorative group photo with IMIF participants and faculty
IMIF-USA T-shirt
Big-brother/Big-sister match-up with an older, advanced IMIF student (for on-site and future mentoring) and joint-social activities
Accommodations in single, air-conditioned room (in quad suite) in the newly built Millennial Hall on Mount St. Mary's University campus
All meals at the Mount St. Mary's University dining hall (together with IMIF participants and faculty)
The saturation in music and observation of accomplished young performers can make a significant impact on the interest, dedication, and development of younger musicians. We look forward to welcoming you to IMIF Prep this summer!
