Alumni Updates
IMIF alumni have gone on to achieve great success in their musical, academic, and other endeavors. Recently, several pre-college participants have performed on the internationally syndicated radio show, "From the Top" and several have performed at Carnegie Hall.
Here are some recent alumni updates...
Leonard Chu (violin) writes: "I would like to share an exciting news with you that I passed my PhD exams. Now I am officially Dr. Chu in the field of Biomedical Engineering. I am not sure what to do next. . . I may work in a company or start a company. I was very fortunate to join IMIF in 2006, and was able to meet and play music with all of you."
Khari Joyner (cello) won first place at the 2009 Sphinx national competition and will attend Juilliard, majoring in cello performance
Grigor Khachatryan (piano) won 6th place at the 2009 Cinncinati World Piano Competition.
Yuka Kubota (violin) won first place in the 2009 American Protege International Piano and Strings Competition, and performed in a winners recital at Carnegie Hall.
Alexis Lee (cello) recently graduated from Juilliard and has been invited to perform as soloist with the Susquehanna Symphony Orchestra in the Spring of 2010.
Xian Meng (violin) recently received second prize in the 2009 J.C. Arriaga Chamber Music Competition with the Tesla Quartet.
